Technology and advertising have worked hand-in-hand to achieve incredible things for many years now.Philips have been researching how to make window shopping more interactive, for instance, while Vodafone had success with their interactive floor panels in 2009.

However, one of the most impressive examples of tech and advertising working in conjuncture arrived this week in Stockholm, Sweden.

To advertise Apotek Hjärtat’s Apolosophy hair products, the company set up an interactive billboard on a subway platform that shows a woman smiling and blinking. The company also installed ultra sonic sensors on the interactive billboard that can pick up when a train pulls into the station. As it does, the woman’s hair blow around as if it has been swept around by the passing vehicle.

It’s an amazing example of how simple technology can be used to extraordinary effect.
